LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – Local small business owners learned more about grants and loans on Friday.
The educational session took place at “The Event” venue on Main Street.
The goal was to help homeowners with the ongoing process of recovering from the pandemic and to empower those who are just starting out in business.
“We’ve had more small businesses that have started in this last year than we’ve seen since 2015. There’s a lot of energy, a lot of excitement, and people, you know, are taking a new leap and trying something new, so it’s great. being able to connect with resources, especially since there is more out there these days than we’ve had in quite some time, “said Errin Welty, Center Development Director.
He said that it can be difficult for companies to know all the options that exist. Welty offered that contacting the city or chamber of commerce can help, as business organizations are connected to each other.
He said another sure way to get good information is to talk to other small business owners. Welty suggested that anyone who has been through the grant or loan process can offer advice and assistance.
